It wasn’t long ago that we were teased about an all new 8-Series from BMW, but now we have the official concept car in the flesh. It was shown at the 2017 Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganze in Italy. Going into production in 2018, the all new luxo-coupe appears to be following the grand touring tradition of the original 8-Series BMW that we all know and love.

Unfortunately, there was no announcement regarding the drive-train but it is believed to be powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that will make 600+ horsepower through an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Don’t count on a third pedal option.

Of course, here at Dinan 8 we want to know what the crazy gear-heads in Morgan Hill will do with this new platform. At the very least we can expect a larger inter-cooler and Dinantronics software for increased power to match performance suspension and braking options. Better start saving now because a new Dinan tuned 8-Series will not come cheap!
